Mar 27, 2015, 9:16 PM

Anyone notice the ticker after Smith announced, No SEC schools listed as losing the recruiting battle to the tigers. Maryland ,Penn State ,and Ohio State were the schools.Guess they have to protect their own

What I know is that he had offers from almost the entire SEC , and that Alabama and ourselves were the two clear frontrunners...but it was never really in doubt where he would commit.

On a side note, headline in the New Orleans paper's recruiting headline said Smith picked Clemson over LSU , Alabama, FSU among others, too funny

I'll tell you what happens...SEC bias starts to fade and a new age in college football is born. Looking at the bigger picture, Clemson success = ACC success. When we recruit at a high level, other conference teams recruit better as well, simply because recruits see elite players attend Clemson and they think...ACC. We already have traditionally strong programs in F$U, Miami, GT, VT, Loisville, Pitt, BC and affiliated with ND. With teams like NCST and Duke on the rise, other teams will gradually improve. Couple that with chatter about an ACC network and all I see, and I'm sure all E$PN sees is $$$$$$. That just means more exposure, better recruits and a conference on the rise. It begins to get bigger than Clemson, while the ACC rides our coattails the entire way. GO TIGERS!

i love the difference in how espn announces his commitment too-

if clemson: 4 star de picks acc school

if alabama: stud 5 star lb picks tide
