Just for clarification, I thought Kentucky or Northern Kentucky won it? LOL
2 man teams, 2 boats, four total fishermen, AND this is a National Championship to be PROUD OF!!!!! lol

LOL.....
COOTS WIN FISHING CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!! Liberty, Eastern Kentucky and Colorado Mesa University finished 2-4. Whew, this trophy will look good in that trophy case along with the equestrian championship, a trophy that the coots had to beat out all of 22 other horse teams in the nation.

SCU forfeits Fishing Natty Championship

In reweighing the prize catch, judges realized that the winning fish was actually a bugle-mouthed bass more commonly known as a Carp(river goldfish).
SCU team members were at a a loss as to why they submitted the fish to be weighed at the end of the day's excursion. "Spinnerbait" Shankliss, team captain, explained: "Wasn't our fault the dadgum fish bit that stinkbait. Anyways, what we caught is what we brung to the dock. We won this Championship Fair and Square."
