shift will tell you, the longest work day, more specifically the longest time DURING that day, is actually at night. On night shift, that last hour before the sun rises, you can look at the clock every 15 minutes, and it has only moved 5. During that time, it doesn't matter how much sleep you got ahead of time, you are going to be sleepy. Then, the sun rises, and you get a second wind, so to speak. Man, swing shift will make you old before your time. I thank the Lord I only had to do it for eight years, hats off to those who still must endure it to make a living for their families!
