I would hedge my bet on a natty as long as Deshaun quarterbacks this team. If next year is his last, then it looks like we are going to have to put on our big boy pants and win it all. Think about this: most Clemson fans were not expecting to play in the CFB Playoff NCG this time last year. We exceeded expectations. Now, let's see how this team handles the expectations of fans.

First off: Though we thought we would be 'good'(er) next year, actually, was anyone truly thinking we'd be 'National Champions good'? With all of DW4 early injuries - collarbone in Spring practice; finger vs Louisville; knee vs GT; I was very doubtful of his durability. So glad he proved me wrong on that! So, now, I'm thinking we may be once again CFP bound - Auburn and FSU notwithstanding. (btw: grammar police: that IS a word where I come from...  .
Second(ly): As long as HCDS is at Clemson, I'm believing we WILL be relevant in January for years to come!
(Sorry, I wanted to also mention recruiting, but @franc1968 is probably running low on his meds by now, so I'm not going to bring up the fact that we are becoming a force to be reckoned with on NSD...)
OH! and Happy (early) Birthday there, old man!

I disagree. I felt like 2015 would be a good, but not great, year for Tiger football. Yet I've been looking to 2016 for 18 months. We will field the most potent offense in the nation this year. Another year of experience for Deshaun and a dominating O line, as well as "the Wayne Train," who will be relieved by the top RB recruit in the country, will send shivers down the spines of Defensive Coordinators across the country. And based on the coaching job BV did last year, our defense will be at least as good as 2015. So I think we have an even better chance at the Natty in 2016 than in 2015. But if 2016 isn't the year, it's coming. As long as Dabo is HC we're going to be in the conversation every year. He's full blown celebrity now. This past year's job performance won even the "nay-sayers" over. That will pay huge dividends into the future. And as we just saw yesterday, Clemson University is becoming a perennial force to be reckoned with in recruiting. SO hang in there. The best is yet to come! Go Tigers!

I'd bet Clemson is back at least twice in the next 5 years and wins at least 1 of them. The only thing that derails this is losing coaches.
