This applies to football as well. What do these kids think "shock the world" means? Radley-Hiles said he was going to "shock the world" and ended up exactly where most analysts said he was going! Zion "shocked the world" by picking exactly the school most of us thought he was going to a year ago before all this South Carolina-Clemson possibility crap started. Had Radley-Hiles picked Slippery Rock and Zion picked Furman, that would have shocked the world, but as it was, both had the shock value of a dead 3A battery. Or are they so arrogant that they believe where ever they pick will "shock the world"? Enough of this BS unless you really plan an electric eel style stinging shock!

enthralled with our younger folks' expressions, because (as most people do) they pick up on catchwords and phrases, using them willy-nilly for whatever reasons.
Heck, I even heard an old fart like myself in a store the other day using the same: "Imma gonna shock the world by ditching my ole lady!" (I trust he was joking. lol)
Fortunately, I've dealt with my own son and four grandkids, all of whom are Zion's age and older, so I just don't get too rattled with bodacious pronouncements. And I certainly don't attribute hardly a thing they say to arrogance....It's mostly kid-speak!

It's called "Twenty-four/seven/three hundred sixty-five" syndrome. Too much airtime that needs to be filled and not enough "sensational" news or information to put out there to keep viewers/listeners/readers interested. So, they make up "sensationalistic" stories to keep people coming back and glued to whatever info source that they use. In other words..."Fake News".
