Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

They still fire the cannon on touchdowns, field goals, and when the team runs down the hill. They no longer do it on kickoffs or extra points though.

But no more on road games? What’s up with that.

Premature CANNON firing cost Clemson a TD & game vs NCstate in the 70's or was it 80's!

The young man fired it thinking we had scored and RB & Oline eased up a bit thinking play was over but we hadn't scored by a foot, so had to go for it & failed in last seconds.

Not sure but I don't remember Clemson taking the cannon to road games my entire life since I started watching as a kid in the 90s. Most likely not a lot of other schools are going to allow another team to bring a cannon into their stadium and fire it.

No.... it is not a actual cannon. it's a mechanism mounted to a hand truck that fires shot gun blanks. but I call it that Cannon thing.. but thanks for chiming in.
