Yeah, I was thinking the league wouldn't settle for less than 12 games and an even bigger fine, so this is probably good (relatively speaking) for Deshaun. I know the NFLPA was doing some saber-rattling about taking this to court, but it seems like courts aren't likely to grant judicial relief to organizations who have signed a CBA.

100% about the year he refused to play. The league could care less about how many angry hookers call the law/press on players. He is being punished for breach of contract.

I find it ridiculous that the two parties agree to arbitration, by a Judge picked by one party, and then that one party can appeal the decision to yet another Judge picked by that same party. Very fair!

It actually sets the stage for the appeal...only of the punishment.

Agreed it seems very convoluted, but the whole thing follows the framework in those two documents...including the appeal of the punishment.
