Title of this thread should be:
"Want to see why Clemson's offense is struggling this year?"
This is a sack 10/10 times right now for Clemson.
It's a well-designed pressure. We aren't handling those well on the OL or at QB.
It involves an OL getting beat 1 on 1 in the middle. That's something we have grown accustomed to over the last 2 seasons specifically.
It involves the LT doing an ok job but looking awful because of what the rest of the OL did.
Most of all it involves a QB needing to make a quick bailout on a play to live to fight another day. We aren't getting that quick bailout this season. Compared to last season the blocking is similar but the sacks have gone way up because we aren't throwing that ball away this season.
It's not TL's fault that this play was doomed from the start and it's not DJ's fault in a lot of cases either, but the difference in the 2 QBs is causing a lot of negative yardage plays instead of incompletions.
For a team that struggles to get 10 yards in 3 plays, it's basically impossible for us to get 15+ yards in 2 plays.
For a team that isn't getting many first downs, punting on 4th and 10 instead of 4th and 17 can go a long way towards winning the field position battle.
