Moab is a good long distance from Salt Lake. Their Jordanelle Reservoir trails are the "closest thing" and they are not even as good as Issaqueena. Their best is Bald Eagle Mt. Even then, I am partial Issaqueena etc. I mean, you have a wreck and out there you get eaten by a Bear or some lost tabernacle/tentacle group. That risk of death sounds like Cootlumbia

I mean if you are going to toss out "within a few hours driving distance" The Smokeys/Pisgah/Mt Bridge/Gorges are better than Moab. Don't get me wrong, I like the desert but I rather have some moisture and biodiversity.

He has spent his entire 20-year career playing and coaching at Utah.

He and his family are Mormon and, to my knowledge, there is not a big Mormon presence in upstate SC.

A year or two ago, he got in trouble for using some racial slurs. While he was suspended briefly, he was ultimately reinstated but forced to take a sizeable pay cut. He also lost his position as Utah's head coach-in-waiting.
