(and ABLE) to step up in a HUGE way, which was most likely not going to happen, given where the program was at the time, he would most likely have gone elsewhere.

Deshaun’s goal was to provide for his family. Him seeking a large NIL deal would be highly likely and Dabo doesn’t like leveraging NIL in recruiting.

This was my 1st thought.

People: "It's just in the open now"! It's not like it wasn't going on underground beforehand.

Either Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Southern Cal, etc. didn't make a good enough offer or he loved what Dabo and ( Clemson boosters) had to say more.

Thanks to #11 Boyd, Tajh and Chad Morris - Clemson had an explosive offense.

Mind you; this is before the transfer portal okay.

You kind of had to go to a place that put you in good position to look good for the NFL.

Clemson was close. And, provided that. Georgia hadn't been "that team" since 1980 at the time.

Good but not explosive on offense like Clemson.

True. Not sure where but he would have taken the money. TL16 would have gone to Tennessee. He wanted to follow Peyton manning but Tennessee was a hot mess when he was being recruited. Tajh was also a vol till fulmer got fired and kiffin withdrew the offer to get crompton. All 3 were our good fortune and changed Clemson’s trajectory and the rest is history.
