There is no "war party", and hasn't been since Bush/Cheney left the scene.
The real question is why is half the GOP echoing Russian misinformation? Every time a lie is cooked up in the Kremlin or from online Russian-sponsored bots, why is that it's some witless GOP party member who echoes the lie?
That's the part of today's foreign policy that is hard to understand more than anything else. Since WW2, the GOP has a strong record of being pro-Democracy, and facing down tyrants who threaten our world order, especially threats from the old Russia-dominated USSR. But since 2016, half the GOP (and even more than half) is in Putin's backpocket.
I voted for Mitt Romney in 2012, and one of the things I liked about him was that he schooled Obama on Putin's threat. ### happened to THAT party?

Conservatives have ever been. Democrats are most definitely part of the war party. 95% of federal-level politicians are, if not more. Dems voted for Bush’s wars and they continue to push war today. The GOP isn’t any better.

When those people call them names, they're directing them at people here. You've done it as well (and don't sit here and lie about it).
You never got mad then. You hypocritically engage in the behavior. You only NOW said something because I suggested a name that upset YOU because you think it's direct at YOU. And that was my point. When it's directed at y'all, you feel differently.

Pretty sure the war in Iraq was participated in by a coalition of nations because Iraq’s government kicked out UN inspectors.
And it was more than pubs that voted to invade.
It passed the house by a 296 to 123 margin and the senate by a 77 to 23 margin.

It isn't Russian misinformation that Europe has decided to prioritize any and everything over funding their own militaries, for decades now, all while sneering at the boorish war mongering Americans all the while. Yet when they inevitably need a military they never hesitate to pick up the phone and give us a call. I don't know anyone on the right who thinks Putins swell but how many more wars are we going to have to intercede in in order to keep the entire continent from being overrun? I mean it's not like the Eurortrash over there, even now, appear to have learned the errors of their ways. Too busy throwing people in prison for expressing the wrong opinion to worry about self defense. That's what the lowly Americans are for.

I definitely am anti Russia, my issue is tell me what is our ultimate goal? I do not believe in any way shape or form, Ukraine can drive Russian soldiers completely out of the country. What is our goal here? If maintaining the status quo is the goal-that is entirely different than Ukraine getting back 100% of their territory. I will wait for one of the liberals to give us their ultimate goal and then tell me how that gets accomplished.

This means if they want to join the EU and meet the conditions, they can join it. If they want to join NATO, and meet the conditions, they can join it. If they want to have a large army, they can have one. People in Ukraine should have freedom to worship without being persecuted.
I'm willing to defer to Ukraine themselves on if they want to cease hostilities without having regained Crimea, for instance.
But it should be a non-negotiable that Ukraine is fully independent from Russia after the end of this war.
And it needs to be such that Putin is not in a position to launch another attack on another country.
We don't achieve that by ceasing the funding of the war. The US needs to stay in this with Ukraine, and if we do, we can achieve the above goals. If we don't, then Putin will either over-run all of Ukraine, or he'll have functional control of Ukraine's government. In any case, he'd be positioned to begin plans for future attacks on other countries (some of whom are in NATO, likely).

You have no knowledge of history and do not realize that Russia does not care how many men die, they will never just leave the battlefield and let Ukraine take back all of their land. You better get prepared to either put boots on the ground or try to negotiate a peace that will allow Russia to save face. Your wishing for Ukraine driving Russia out of their country is wishing upon a star.
