That explains a lot.

Btw, that is not life preparation. Production is what employers care about, not effort.

Seems to be the mentality of the team

Adam Randall making the case that a 5-5 season is better than a 10-0 on the radio right now. Because of character development

Dabo is an employee and Neff is his boss.

Development may be one of Neff's requirements.

Some of you are so blind, you'll never find an acorn. "Max effort" means what it means--giving your all. Go Tigers!!!

That has always been the meaning of best is standard. Spoiled fans are the only ones who interpret it differently.

No, there is a huge difference in meaning between "best is standard" and "max effort". Max effort maintains that not being the best is okay so long as you tried really hard. It's a standard that has failure (not being the best) as an acceptable mental attitude and outcome.

Best is standard says "I don't care how hard you are trying. You need to figure out how to be the best because trying really hard is not the standard. Being the best at what you do is the standard."

People that want to cheer max effort really just need to stick to watching soccer. All that game is people running back and forth displaying max effort.
