Say it ain't so

It looks like Turk has decided to go a different, and controversial, route than our other Tiger golfers.

Wow. Shocked!!!

However, he wasn't in any fields and I like the fact it says they can cash checks without damage... But, how does this affect him getting into a KF event or does it.

I'll let you experts guide my opinion.

To be determined. Jay Monahan has implied that he may forfeit memberships for PGA TOUR golfers that participate. Whether he actually does that or not is anyone's guess. You have to assume that if the tour forfeits membership for existing members that play in the events, it would probably also remove the ability to gain membership to anyone else that participates. There would probably be consequences for the KFT and PGA TOUR Canada as well, since those are owned by the PGA TOUR. We'll learn more soon I guess.

Hopefully the kid isn't getting bad advice. I truly believe he's got enough game to have a nice future. As you said, time will tell.

The current rumor right now is that playing in this event will result in a 3 month suspension that can be served from October-December of this year.

If that is in fact true, then I think its a no brainer. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Money talks and big money talks more. Sad day for golf imho. Murderers with a ton of money are still murderers.

Ray Lewis agrees.

I think this is a great decision by Turk to get his career started. Last place finisher in London will be making $120k. Sure as heck beats making the cut on Korn Ferry Tour and only taking home $5-15k.

If he can be in the field of a handful of the 8 tournaments scheduled, he will have enough dough to live on for a couple of years as he tries to make it to the PGA Tour (if that is still the most desirable path).

I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision for Turk, but props to him for having the cojones to do this and jumpstart his career.
