Did he switch to an SEC school?

Based on his highlight reel, I'd say that fourth star is well-deserved. Looking forward to seeing what this kid can do for us.
GO TIGERS!

complaining because Dabo was going after an AUB commit ? Seems our coach knew what he was doing. After the Clemson and Auburn offers , ESPN probably looked at his film for the very first time.

I believe all of the services should have him at 4 stars. He has the size, speed, agility and is the type game changing play maker to be that highly regarded. I believe he was not promoted by his HS coaches early enough to get the looks and reviews many players get. His highlights show his real ability, and I'm glad Dabo sees it.

It seems a lot of us don't remember, but Danny was tops on recruiting 3 star players who were really much better. Coaching, spotting talent or a combo of both I guess.

In the 80s, there were recruits from small schools that just could not get their names out there. It is really rare to a have a Gaines Adams now that comes from nowhere. At that point if a Wesley Mcfadden comes from a small school like Lewisville, he may have 500 people in the stands and 150 at the school, no newspaper love or anything. That is when coaches would get calls from fans telling them that they had a good player in town and that they should come see him.
He would also go talk to kids that he did not really want and let it leak to the newspapers. Said half the time another school would see he was talking to them and offer them a scholorship

You are right, but he was a master at teaching "toughness" and pure football skills. Coaching players up to reach their true potential is so critical to success, and instilling the desire to never be satisfied, which seems to be a gift of Nick Saban. I see Dabo as that kind of guy, but we have hurdles to cross with academics, entry standards, etc. that many others don't face.

I think Rivals had him as a no-star when he comitted

which means they haven't scouted him. Sounds like neither service has taken any sort of look at him and just gave some sort of half-### default.

So that is the difference between ACC speed and Conf USA speed lol. So if he had SEC speed he would be a 5 star. Welcome aboard Mr. Green and Go Tigers!!

ESPN had him as a 4*....Charone Peake was a 5* and their #2 overall WR. Martavis Bryant was also ranked higher than Sammy.
