My daughter(Clemson grad and UGA vet student) just called and said her classes for tomorrow are cancelled. She received an email from the UGA president saying that classes are cancelled due to a body being found near the inter-mural fields on campus. Evidently, friends of the victim had reported her/him missing when they hadn’t returned from a run.
Getting my daughter a CWP.

It was a female student out for a run this morning. My daughter and her roommates have run there.

Because lawful carriers are the danger, not the people who don't follow rules.
That said, not many carry while running or any other exercise.
Pepper spray or mace would be a good investment.

I know schools don’t allow CWPs, but like you said the law abiding citizens suffer for it while the criminal ######## don’t care about following a law.
She already carries pepper spray while running, but lives off campus and she will get a pistol to have on her. Told her running is no go unless she’s got 10 other people with her. Athens is crawling with sleaze bags and mental case transients. Her professor’s car was broken into a couple of weeks ago in a campus parking lot during mid-day.

My daughter texted me from CA last night telling me what she knew about the situation.
My daughter graduated UGA about 5 years ago.
She told me she ran at the intramural fields, where the girl was found, a couple times every week. I remember when I went there to move her home, she gave me a tour of campus, showing me her local hang outs. I remember the lake.
