The principles and virtues Dabo lives by and has applied at Clemson are the foundation of what’s happened here over his tenure.
Those foundational principles led the ascension of Clemson when initially most IPTAY members, students, and fans alike were more than skeptical to put it mildly.
People rarely mention on this forum how successful Dabo’s players are in the classroom with graduation rates and GPA’s that rival Stanford, Duke, and Notre Dame.
That’s special. It’s so special.
He’s not going to change those principles. They’re the stone instead of sand foundation.
The game’s changed; standards lowered, transfers available as “at will free agency”, and ALOT of money inserted via NIL.
All of this in the last couple of years.
Dabo now has the challenge of finding a way to uphold those principles that have developed and graduated future leaders, fathers, coaches, etc. while maintaining the level of performance on the field.
Appropriate criticism of the results on the field is just that, appropriate. In my personal view, however, the angry, sarcastic, tantrum-like vitriol displayed by many is not.
I encourage us to take a deep breathe, get behind the team, and let him work the problem. He’s earned it more than any coach in the country.
