Our QB isn’t just improved, he’s thriving

Oct 3, 2022, 2:08 PM

DJ praying before the TD!

DJ running fast into the end zone ahead of State player!

DJ Celebration in the end Zone!

I couldn’t be happier for one of our Players than I am for DJ, he had to struggle through the adjustments last year but he has come full circle with no ceiling in site!

Each games he plays in you can see his confidence build. The receivers are dropping less passes and building their confidence as well. Last year he had to throw a lot of passes to the 3rd and 4th string receivers and they didn't help him any. How many of his 10 Interceptions last year were off the hands of one of his receivers? I know there were at least 3 if not more. That works on a kids mind. But he has put that behind him. The O-line couldn't protect him and his mobility being weak last year didn't help.

It's amazing what being healed from injuries, an improved

O-line, receivers getting open and catching the ball, and overcoming personal issues beyond your control, will do for you.

You wind up with the 5-Star Elite 11 DJ, and the DJ that was amazing in the two games he started as a true freshman.

Not turning the ball over and playing with some confidence. He’s a different guy this year.

Good Post! HumbleServant®

Having a guy like Richardson as passing game coordinator!
Being Healed as mentioned.
Also as mentioned: WR's getting open and healthy, and better OL play.

His parents are a year or close to a year from their separation and he has had time to compartmentalize that whole situation. Which: some people can't empathize with you because they don't have that super tight-knit family. Being across the country while all that was going on and being injured and having all those injuries and having suspect OL and WR play and having the whole weight of Clemson football put "solely on your(and the OC) shoulders could not have been easy!

I wish him nothing but the best! We lose to Wake without DJU, period!

Unlike the KB years where we won; because he could run and do well enough passing against most teams! I think DJU has the potential to be that guy even against better competition. All of whom(that you would consider elite) have shown vulnerability in their secondary.

But, as long as he can remain healthy, plus the OL keeps getting better and the WR's stop dropping balls and start getting open more and the TE group continues being a big part of what the offense is doing - "we are going to be in very good shape on offense at Clemson"!

Thanks!
