Memorial Day has always been special to our marriage

because we met on Memorial Day 1970. Some Football buddies and I were cruising the McDonalds in Anderson looking for gals. 2 doll babies pulled up in the parking space next to us and we began to talk. One of them was sweet and extraordinarily gorgeous. Just a stunning beauty! I will skip all the details & theatrics, but 6 months later we were married.

For that reason, every Memorial Day for 54 years I have taken her to eat at a McDonalds wherever we are. We make it a date and do it every year. This year, however, as prices rise at Mickey Dees, I might have to find her a good meat N' 3 nearby cause I'm not sure we can afford a double quarter pounder with cheese anymore! God Lord have mercy!
