Masters of the Air - Clemson $2 Bill??? SPOILER WARNING

In Episode Nine of Masters in the Air, when Buck returns to the base in England, he looks through his chest of belongings while Harry and Rosie talk to him about flying in the next mission and he looks at a picture of his fiancee, then proceeds to pick up a marked bill.

I have re-watched the scene 4 times, and it absolutely has to be a Tiger-Paw marked 2 dollar bill.

I just found an excerpt from History Extra where it talks about Cleven and his 2 Dollar Bill:

“I carried two rosaries, two good luck medals, and a $2 bill off of which I had chewed a corner for each of my missions”

Unless I'm mistaken, the paw two dollar bill tradition was not started until the 70s, but I wonder if there was something more to the use of a tiger paw bill (e.g. as wink to someone that went to Clemson working on the show), or if it was just coincidentally what they could find.

You're right mid 70's for the last GT game in Atlanta as home field only series. A few years later GT joined the conf and had to play us home and home from then on anyway

Great series. Highly recommend. The two dollar silver certificates had a red seal. I had a similar reaction.
