The flag on the obvious one was a no brained.
The lack of flag on the other was in the judgement of the official.
Certainly if was not an obvious thing at all unless a fan just wants to see the officials stretch things in a make-up call sort of situation.

No way are they the same. Every late hit "not called on a Clemson QB in the same manner; the announcer would spend a good minute talking about how the hit started in bounds"!
Man, too bad folks have to always see it different for Clemson. By that, I mean, even some "supposed to be Clemson fans"! They say realist, I say doubting Thomas. OR at least, "ye of little faith"!
Over the years with Tajh, Deashaun and Trevor even KB we have had some bad no calls on quarterbacks!
So, how come it's okay for us to get called against us, but we can't get a call "for us"?
5th fewest penalties for calls against! That means, teams are apparently playing perfect ball when they play Clemson! Come on now!

Contact with Garrett started 2-3 yds in the field of play and Trotter didn't do anything but extend his hand. NO he shouldn't have done it and should pointed out in film study this week. People just need to stop buying into the Media BS that these 2 plays were just alike.

People want to complain that the Tigers got some "home cooking" from the refs well its as simple as the op said. One you have a clear hit out of bounds and the other the initial contact is in bounds and Trotter rides him all the way out of bounds. Pretty simple to me. Those complaining just want Clemson to lose. If Trotter wouldn't have touched him until Schrader got to sideline then I believe you would have seen a flag but that ist isn't what happened.
