Re: I've changed my position. PSU should shut their fb program

The NCAA has no business putting their nose in this. There are no NCAA violations.
This is an internal matter for PSU.

My position has not changed. Why punish the young athletes, the student body ,even the alumi who pay their dues(like Iptay) and buy season tickets. The University did nothing wrong. The Student body did nothing wrong. The Athletes did nothing wrong. The alumi and fans who love to go to football games on Saturday did nothing wrong. The University has admitted to errors in judgement, but those errors have been corrected. The men in position who"could have",and "should have" acted are gone. Maybe you might remove Paterno's statue, void ( or vacate) all of his wins and championships, but He is no longer around to defend his actions. Spanier,Schultz and Tim Curley( the AD) are gone,or need to be and both Spanier( the Pres.) and Schultz( the V.P.)are facing perjury charges. Sandusky is in jail, probably for life, and one can only imagine the number of civil suits his family will face from the victims. Just my opinion, but I think money earmarked for the football program should be put in a fund for the victims along with any other discretionary funds that the university sees fit to use for the victims. But let the team play because the team is not quilty of any wrong doing. And as far as the NCAA goes, they should go take a hike.I hear the PSU campus is a nice place to visit on a crisp fall football weekend.

And what about the innocent students, the innocent fanbase the innocent alumi, the innocent athlete? No.You have fired the culprits. Two are facing criminal perjury charges. One is in prison for life and one is dead. The University needs to make the matter right with the victims. No argument there. But the football program did nothing wrong. It was the men running the football program who are guilty. Add to that the Athletic Director,Tim Curley was in charge of the whole Athletic Dept.So why not shut down the entire Athletic Operation?Did you stop to consider that? Same with the University. It is not the University that is quilty. It is the men who ran it that are quilty. Yet I don't see you suggesting that they shut down the University for a year. Punish the men who are responsible.Don't shut down the program. The program did nothing wrong!

The football program was used as a vehicle

for molestation. Sandusky lured the boys there on the basis of football. Patenro protected him. It has everything to do with football and screw the innoncent fans and players argument. Players should be allowed to transfer immediately and I could give a rat's #### about their fans or alum. The program is a cesspool that allowed pedohpilia to run for years with so many on the team covering it up.

And Sandusky and Paterno were hired by the University, not the by the football program. And even when Paterno did nothing Spanier,Schultz and Curry could, and should have. And Sandusky didn't screw innocent students,or alumi. He screwed innoncent kids. The young kids( now adults) have had their day in court, and will continue to have that option, either with Penn State, or in the courts.Shutting down the football program punishes those that are innocent, and there are innoncent victims as well those young men that need to be considered. Shutting down the programn changes nothing except denying those innoncent people a chance to enjoy Penn State football. And if you allow the athletes the chance to transfer immediately, where does the NCAA draw that line on future issues, especially when these are not an NCAA infractions ,but legal issues. Maybe you don't care about the alumi ,or the fans, but how would you feel if this was your institution? Would you want your football program shut down.or would you want to see the guilty punished, and restitution for the victims?
