I understand that seeding makes no sense

when teams are placed like Tennessee in ours. Let's face it though, baseball is not a big money sport. They place teams closer to home for fan support and tv ratings. LSU got Tulane because they are local. We are close enough to Tennessee. I know it sucks, but money does drive their decisions.

Yes. And the more SEC teams in the next rounds makes them more money.

Exactly, nobody up north watches college baseball. I lived near Ohio State for 10 years and no one ever mentioned they even had a team

There is no need to place teams for fan support

The host school in 90% of these regional will sellout these stadiums on their own - no help needed from visiting fans. And the host 90% of the time make it to the final day of the regional even if they wind up losing.

The entire field needs to be seeded and if you are going to rely so heavily on RPI and it’s incestuous nature to determine hosts then you sure as hell need to be using it for the other seeds because by awarding 8 SEC hosts they created a dilemma where the 2 SEC seeds only had 8 places to go. They need to get rid of the rule that says a conference team can’t go to another conf team regional. UT should be headed to Auburn. or somewhere like that based on RPI. I think UT should have been closer to getting uSCs host spot. Bama should have been higher than USC, Auburn also.

I agree with this. Money 💰 is a big motivator. I agree with a 32 seed set up
