How many deep passes will nc state attempt this week?

My guess is at least 15. They’ll want to test our secondary all night. Hopefully we can pressure the qb a little better and cbs will have to tighten it up and prove it on every down.

I think they will try about a dozen long passes to see what the secondary does, probably more short passes and screens.

What is your definition of deep? Over 25 yards, not many if it is windy.

they will become one for one week just because our corners got roasted against Wake. They love to run the football and dink and dunk their way down the field. They trust Leary to move the chains on 3rd down and don't mind being in A LOT of 3rd and short-medium situations throughout a game.
Last year NC State only averaged 4 yards per play against our defense, but they still managed to do this:
96 plays
31 1st downs!
41:48 TOP!
11/21 on 3rd down
Some of that was our offense not being able to stay on the field, but a lot of it was our defense just not being able to get off the field. We only forced one 3-and-out the entire game. Their average drive in regulation was 7 plays.
So, despite the Wake Forest tape, I'm not expecting State to take many deep shots, even if the weather isn't terrible. That's just not what they like to do.
