Here's what I think going into the NCAAT...

The loss yesterday was very frustrating. Very.

But I hold out some hope that we are going to play well in Indy. Yes, it depends on matchups. But, BB's NCAAT history says that we will be ready and well-prepared. Think about the teams he has taken to the NCAAT here...

That first year we overcame the horrible scheduling and likely should have won that WV game (after winning the First Four game).

The Sweet 16 run was very good basketball, and we came out very prepared, especially from a gameplan perspective.

Yes, we could lay another egg, and yes, our guys have to perform... but the few times BB has taken us to the NCAAT, we have been extremely prepared. You could say the same for his mid-major teams he took as well.

We'll see.

It depends on what Coach Brownell's attitude is about the NCAAT. In the post game press conference last night he said. "I just hope we can win two games" talking about the ACC Tournament.
He never had a plan to win the ACC Tournament.

I'm not big on defending Brownell because there are others who really seem to enjoy it so I let them handle it, but your guess at what he means is likely far far off.

Another way of complaining about what he said would be, "why is he worried about winning 2 games instead of focusing on the first one?"

One could also say if he says they plan to win the tournament, "why is he worrying about winning the whole thing when we usually struggle to win 2 games?"

You can pick apart any type of statement like that.

My take on the comment is that winning 2 games as the 5 seed puts you in the semifinal. At the point the goal is in sight and you reset your focus and goals.

Hoping you win the ACC tournament before you play a game is skipping steps.

I'm guessing you will also be unhappy if Brownell says that the team's goal is to make it to the Sweet 16 instead of saying they want to win the national championship.

They may win the first game but probably not and for sure will be home on Monday.
