I'm no baseball expert, but I think FSU needs to improve their buillpen (and defense) to be competitive at the elite level. What do y'all think? 😉

You have the lead and you give up 5 consecutive walks. That was the clue I saw that the bullpen might not be up to speed.

Noles go to Clemson and in 3 games hit 12 homeruns. Tell Link Jarrett that and I think we would be thinking, "Well we won at least 2 out of three."

Not taking anything away from Clemson. They didn't pack it in. They kept focused. No panic. No whining at the umps. Just kept playing.

If Clemson is not ranked #1 in the nation then there is no rhyme or reason to the rankings. Great weekend, Tigers!

Yesterday's game had something to do with it IMO. As much as it was a "Let's go!" for us, it had to an "Oh crap" for FSU. It had to get in their heads.

General note on the bullpen.

It was considered the biggest question mark coming into the season. FSU stunk last year. First losing record in school history. Jarrett took over a dumpster fire. He has 26 new guys on the roster this year.

Going into the season the expectations were
1. Much better hitting. Would be the strength of the team.
2. Better starting pitching. 2 guys were expected to be much better than anybody last year. (We had one good pitcher and he got hurt early in the season.)
3. Better defense. Last year the defense was horrible. Guys were playing out of position, but our hitting was so bad he had to play the best hitters and just putthem on the field somewhere.
4. Question mark is the bullpen. New faces. Young faces. Inexperienced. Nothing to go on to tell you how good they may or may not be.

The first games we played were against inferior teams and our hitting was plenty good enough to cover up any pitching woes. Plus the fact that the other teams didn't have big time bats. Sweeping Notre Dame gave us some confidence that the bullpen might be better than expected.

Clemson proved it isn't. Jarrett has to be apoplectic over the fact that nobody could throw strikes. In all three games the walks and hit batsmen were horrid.

Oh well, I've said too much already. Y'all aren't interested in FSU woes. Great job. Congrats.
