Just saw a closeup of eggs. One is in process of hatching. Saw feathers sticking through egg shell. May take a day for eaglet to make it's way out. Shadow is on nest right now.

While I was watching yesterday, it looked to me like one of the eggs had started to hatch, but the Friends of Big Bear Valley, who manage and maintain the eagle nest cams, said as of late Tuesday evening, there is no confirmed Pip.

This is indeed awesome news.

eggs trying to hatch, cold is a killer. We still keep hoping, though. It's called Nature for a reason, these creatures know how to live in it and survive much better than us humans.
