Friday's WV game is an important one for the basketball program

if we want fans and donors to continue to support it and fund it like an elite program when we are at what sounds like a huge disadvantage in the basketball-dominant ACC.
Whether the player acquisition and recruiting system is corrupt and rigged against us, or our coach is unable to operate within the rules to make us better, or perhaps a combination of both - if we can’t come close to reaching our goals as a result, what’s the point?
Unless our goals have to do with something other than winning a conference title. In which case we should all continue feeling really good about funding all the quality losses.

Realistically we need to get 1 of 2 from this weekend's tournament, whether that be WVU or Georgia/Xavier I don't think really matters overall. It is a long season, lot's of basketball to play, lot's of great opportunities ahead. If we go 0-2 then yes we are going to be behind the proverbial 8 ball.
I have watched a WVU game this year, they are nothing special, but they did beat Pitt by 22, and are 5-0, so no pushover. If we can get a win Friday and a win Sunday it will set us up very well going forward.
We're in a better spot today with basketball than we have been in many, many years in my opinion. Your comments about funding quality losses and having a recruting system rigged against us are shortsighted, give the season some time to play out. Of course we want to win a conference title but so do 17 other teams. We were in the final 4 of 18 last year, hopefully we can get to that point again and give ourselves another opportunity.

I just posted about this. Think it's better to beat WVU because everyone is pretty much better than Xavier of the 4 teams. Got off to a poor start at 3-2 and are in the 100s in Kenpom. Looks like Richard Pitino is in complete rebuild mode there. They will bring down your SOS.

It's not supported like an elite program...

The Athletic Department under funds them 15-20% w/ the revenue sharing compared to the competition. Brownell is doing more with less.

I think this is one year trial to see what they do with a lower revenue share. Neff is still helping the program out with NIL from Clemson ventures.

I think Brownell really is a good coach...

It's always been tough to win at Clemson in BB. If we put him on a level playing field with other schools, I think we could turn a corner even more so than we have already. Just since we did the renovations to help with facilities like he asked, we're the 4th winningest program in the ACC.

I doubt IPTAY will miss your $60.
