One of LBBill's latest posts reminded me of Frank Beamer's keynote speaker visit to the Savannah QB Club Super Bowl Party late Jan/early Feb this year.
Coach Beamer rambled about a lot of subjects, but interestingly and unprompted, he brought up Dabo Swinney and the Clemson program early in his talk. Dad Beamer said his family had a lot of respect for Dabo. Said that Dabo was a very good man. Said in years' past, he and Shane and other family members had sat with Dabo at different high school games and events. Said when Shanes's son was very young, Dabo had offered him a "football scholarship" to Clemson. And when Shane took the usc job, his then 6-8 year old grandson was concerned and told his Dad he should call Coach Swinney and turn down that scholarship offer.
Overall, Frank Beamer was nothing but complimentary and said not one bad word about Dabo.
