Do you think Clemson has ever had a QB tougher than Tajh?

Jan 1, 2013, 10:16 AM

Whitehurst and Rodney were both tough SOBs for sure and started a lot of games.

I'll never forget the beating Whitehurst endured against Texas Tech. Literally thought he was gonna die.

With the nature of our offense causing Tajh to run so much, he got lit up all year. He took a dadgum pounding last night... and against SCar.

But he just kept bouncing back like he's done all year. Just don't think he gets enough respect nationally for his toughness.

It's one thing to get beat up by a defense playing well.

Jan 1, 2013, 10:19 AM

It's another to get beat up because you're repeatedly running right at them with no fear.

I think Tajh is the toughest we've ever had. Running 27 times against that LSU defensive line seems like suicide, but our QB just kept getting back up.

There's something in these hills.

Re: Streeter was pretty tough- very true

as I recall he dislocated his hip one game and played the following week.

He broke his shoulder and stayed in the game? Dude only

Boyd's shoulders were to tough to break and he is too tough to ever collapse, lol. Just kidding.

^ correct.

Streeter was the toughest... played behind a very weak OL.

Streeter was my immediate thought. Amazing the pounding

that man could take and get up time and again.

But Tajh is certainly tough as nails himself, and more talented.

Jan 1, 2013, 10:25 AM

announcers never said a word until they thought LSU might have gotten hit late. The announcer bias was really annoying. Lots of head shots by their guys. Definitely targeting Boyd with late hits. But, alas, we emerged victorious.

yep LSU was expert at spearing late

Reminded me of Auburn a few years ago.

Jan 1, 2013, 10:28 AM

I was impressed with our guys, and especially Boyd, not being intimidated by their thuggery.

constant late hits, extra hit as a guy just goes down, etc. But not really more physical in actually playing the game.

It's hard for me to describe. Their hits just look like they hurt more overall than when we tackle.

Boyd got hit after almost every pass he threw. Those guys

pushed the limit for sure. Seems like SCar and Auburn did the same thing. Always got late hits in that were very borderline.
