Did anyone else’s(sp?) old timers ever use the phrase “You

would kick if you were swimming…”?

I don’t know why, but for some reason, that thought comes to mind often as I peruse tnet.

Nor do I completely understand what it means.

Honestly I have never used it in my life, and at 71 I guess I am about as old as that guy in the Bible that lived to be 969 years old.
Now my favorite phrase is perhaps these one; Man, I haven't seen you in a month of Sundays.

I’ve heard about swimming with bow-legged women, but I’ve never heard that phrase.

That's an old Bowery Boys reference. Leo Gorcey used to say that. Probably got it from some Vaudeville routine. That was a long time ago so LBB should be familiar with it!

As a paratrooper, the two things we couldn’t stand was a bow legged woman or a straight legged man.

Guess I’ll need to explain that one, too….
