I believe he will make a change. Will be very disappointed if he doesn’t.

In my opinion…

As long as Brownell is still coaching everybody is save. You can’t fire one coach for under performing while you keep giving another chance after chance after chance after chance.

Clemson basketball accomplishments under Purnell (most of 2000s)
NIT finals 3 straight NCAA tournament appearances, humiliating losses to lower seeds. Didnt make it out of first round any of the time
Clemson Basketball Under Brownell(2010s) Won NCAA tournament game his first year 1 losing season in his entire tenure Led Clemson to the Sweet 16, lost to the 1 seed in a 5 point game, after losing Donte Grantham to Season ending injury Had Clemson back in the NCAAs in 2021 during a covid year but lost to Rutgers in the first round. Ended the Chapel Hill nightmare.
Brownell won in Chapel Hill, got us to a sweet sixteen, and has consistently had the team performing above expectation in conference play, all 3 things Purnell (his predecessor failed to do).
Monte Lee took over a program from a Hall of Fame coach who left him a very talented recruiting class he won an ACC championship with... since he has
Lost in 3 home regionals Missed the NCAA tournament two times In a row (we aren't making it as 12th in the conference and 2 humiliating losses.)
While I'm probably on record on this account saying I wanted Brownell fired at certain points, Monte regressed the program, while Brad at least put up a respectable sweet 16 Banner and ran into the one seed.
Clemson basketball is a consistent program now that is likely going to win 16-18 games every year at worst and performs above expectation, while Monte Lee took a baseball program respected nationwide into the garbage. Hate to tell yall, we don't invest enough (money wise or fan support wise) in basketball to expect the success we do in baseball.

See and Lee have never understood you cannot win games on finesse often. Walks and hit batters will kill a baseball team that is struggling. VT at one point had received 9 walks--5 in one inning and was comfy' with 10 runs on 8 hits. Whomever takes the reins has a massive rebuilding job to tackle.
