this week . . . Just for the experience since we compete every year in the Linger Longer Event . . . the exposure for the future would have been worth the expense . . . in my eyes anyway.
Evidently Will isn’t playing as well as the 5 Chosen by Coach Byrd . . . He’ll be part of Our Core moving forward.

I shot a 85 at Mid Carolina on Monday. Had a quad on #10 par 4. That pretty much ruined my round.

Well, cream rising to the top. Uncg will rise if they keep playing well. Was hoping we'd upset some higher ranked teams. But just don't have the horses. Making a regional is our ceiling.
Golden opportunity yesterday and other than Jon, and Andrew, no help. I wish Byrd would scratch Dominique and either give Callahan a shot or stick with Will. This course is Williams home turf and I think he'd have played the course well. Especially the 5's with his length. Oh well, not my call. Dominique is gone after this year.

Sure enough but our #1 and #3 both found bogeys on 18. Gives all the good that Jon gave us and flushed it. As we've discussed throughout this season, we tend to make the feathers but we sure give em back. I would imagine you'll see a lot of teams score really well on 18.
But, as I posted in your thread yesterday, anything inside a top 5 should help us move up in rankings.

LARGE Winged Flappers, as opposed to Birdies, which were "only" Small Winged Flappers. Those Large ones were indeed hard to come by, and very lucrative when they showed up.

T-5th w/ 3rd place within striking distance. Alabama played lights out & don't see how anyone is catching them.
Need to put together 2 more solid days, think that's what anybody that's been following the team this year is hoping for is 3 rounds of solid team golf.

Not short cited at all. You understand we have several players starting in rotation for the first time in their career. Top 5 finish and a jump in rankings that keep us qualified for a regional is a definite win.

What Alabama accomplished is extremely rare in team golf. They had 3 golfers, a -2, -10, and a - 5 and all 3 had clean cards. And the -2 clean wasn't a counter. Their other 2 counters both shot -3 with one having a lone birdie, and the other had a lone double bogey.
5 golfers, 90 holes of golf between 5 different golfers and you card only 2 holes at +par. 88 holes that was par or better. Rare no matter how good you are.
Comparison - had we accomplished that same feat, we would be -17... 4 shots off the lead. Realistically we should be at -10 and sole possession of 3rd place, because we carded 3 par 5 bogeys.

Looks like we are stuck in neutral today and that isn't going to cut the mustard on that course. I think UNC Greensboro is something like 10 under today. We are currently in 6th.

at once, with a long distance ticket. But, like Clemgal said, golf, probably more than any other sport, performances can swing from day to day, even swing to swing. There is always the possibility of that aHA moment where something just clicks. It even happened to me on the rare occasion back in the day. I'm telling you, those are the days you never wanted the sun to set, because you just KNEW whatever it was would be gone overnight, and it usually was.

Yep Clemson golf is not trending in the right direction imo. Hopefully things will get better as the season goes along.

We are locked in a tight battle between Jacksonville 135, Kennesaw 95, Charlotte 61, and Augusta 80 for the 10/11 place finish. Fortunately they'll be 3 or 4 teams below us.
The numbers beside each team is their national rank. Thanks to skeeta56 for providing the links and ratings... and as always the beautiful snapshots. Go Tigers. Good back 9 may get us a 9th place finish.

God Bless them all but Thank you Jonathan Nielsen and Thomas Higgins for giving us a top 6 showing. We may just move up a bit in rankings.
As skeeta56 has laid out all year, we hung with the big boys in making birdies. We just can't stay away from some really nasty holes.
