I just dislike him because he is clueless. I think he had too many concussions

he is much more insightful than the other guys about the game of football.

He does offer alot with additonal breakdowns of plays and things that most people do not notice in a game. The 3:30 CBS SEC game of the week is the best production in college football. I think it helps that the teams/games are usually filled with importance and pageantry.

Verne is a bit of stooge at times though.

Very insightful as a color analyst. He's usually right about the details of the game and, for me, easy to listen to. I thought his calling of the Army - Navy game this past year was excellent.

Not sure why the hate for the guy. Todd Blackledge may be my current favorite, but Gary is not far behind.

than the vast majority of announcers. His analysis usually plays out exactly like he predicts. And his comments are well-timed and spot on most of the time.

The only reason anyone would hate him is because they are jealous of the SEC for owning cfb lately, or he said something that caused a certain team's fans to get butthurt.
