Brad says they miss Simms...

Does he know you can have 13 scholarship players on a roster?
You are supposed to be able to get players and develop them so that when good players leave, the next players move into those spots and you go from there.
Said same thing about KJ McDaniels...
You think he would have figured that out in 12 seasons and after losing KJ. That is how you develop a good program. Oh, he doesn't do that...

"Clemson Grit" was Gabe DeVoe, and he gone.
Now it's "We weren't tough enough and that's why we lost the lead to Boston College, and we weren't tough enough tonight to get the win." So it appears we've gone from #ClemsonGrit to #ClemsonQuit. Not exactly inspiring.

Here is Brad's recruiting philosophy...

Brad:Well that kid can shoot?
But is he quick and have some size?
Brad: No well we have a spot take him.
But this other kid is 6-5 and has a good handle, very athletic and can slash. Good defender. Just needs to work on his shot some but can be developed.
Brad: Well just take the 6-2 guard because he can shoot.
Same thing with some guys with size. Not including PJ Hall.
He has lost focus with recruiting principles.

So now we are at the phase where everything Brad says is taken out of context and criticized in an effort to pile on?
Come on man, you are better than that...or maybe not.

Not out of context. He said they miss Simms defensive skills because the guys he has aren't tough enough. Why even say that? He was at Clemson 4 years! We weren't good those 4 years except for his freshman year. He did say recruiting was the issue, so blamed himself (and staff) while trashing his players I guess. Maybe he meant he isn't getting recruiting support with that statement, as far as boosters flipping the bill for some better players. Our recruits coming in look solid. Godfrey looks like he's ready physically to play now. I will agree with the others posting that it's basically the same story every year for the last 12 years. What has not allowed BB to take us to a better spot is only something that the AD and Brad know, but on the surface from a fan perspective it seems like we have had a few teams with sweet sixteen skill, but only made it there 1 time in BB tenure. Who can get excited for a Brad Brownell team?! It's the equivalent to Duke in Football. Just no hope, with one little glimmer every now and again.

But will still be a freshman. Probably get maybe a few more minutes than Ian Schiefflin
Wiggins and Gibson need to get stronger but are good prospects too.
Why they have not gone after more guys that are 6-5 r taller guards like Gibson before this season is perplexing.
None of these guys are difference makers next season.

Adjectives he used to describe his players were “soft”, “not big enough”, “we need to look at the way we recruit “, etc. YOU recruited these guys. It’s you and your staff’s responsibility to enhance their play and make them functional. So sick of him throwing these young men under the bus. It’s been a recurring issue with him doing that for at least a decade now.
