There’s a huge issue when one projection has you hosting Scar as the 2 seed with an 18 rpi and the other projection has you hosting Texas with an rpi around 48… how would it make any sense for scar to be in our regional if they finish with an rpi around 20 even?? I just don’t understand why it’s not like every sport it’s seeded and you go where you go, this regional bs gets old bc based on numbers and rpi there’s no way in hell scar should be in our regional… exact same thing happened last year with tenn. It seems like a bs system imo

Because Clemson/ Scar is one of the most marketable match ups in college baseball (though that isn’t saying much). They have gone out of the way to pair Clemson and Scar up in the past. If SCar was good enough to host they’d probably pair us against them. But putting them in our regional is the only guaranteed way to get the matchup.

Plus, SCAR is hot right now and we are cold. The Committee knows this. So as an added bonus they can pair our Regional up with an SEC team and hope they can guarantee another SEC spot in Omaha. America wants to see at least half the teams in Omaha are SEC teams. Just ask ESPN. That'll get more eyeballs for them.

I get that but it shouldn’t be about what marketable… we did work to earn a top 8 seed how is that fair to punish us multiple years bc of matchups … at a 6-7 seed nobody close to that 20-25 rpi should be in our regional , what was the point in finishing 2nd and winning 40+ games and having the rpi we do if we don’t get thr benefit of the tournament style format which should be followed , and the committee should be asked those questions

Because the pairings are already made now that they announce the 9-16 seeds up front. South Carolina will not be a host.
