Air velocity (??) engineers GITT

and explain to me if I'm correct.
Thermostat is in the hallway directly above the return. None of the bedrooms have fans yet (plan on buying them this weekend at Lowes). Bedrooms are ice cold at night. Thermostat still says 74 and drops about a degree an hour.
Air coming out the vent is ice cold
Is the problem:
1. Bad thermostat location
2. Not enough air flow out of the bedrooms and into the hallway
And would the ceiling fans fix this issue?

Velocity is a measure of distance over time

(d/t)
Air is what you breathe. It is about 78% Nitrogen and 21% Oxygen plus other gases.
Water will freeze (become ice) at ~ 32 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 Celsius.

Take doors off hinges
Run the bathroom exhaust fan 24-7
Put blankets on beds
run thermostat up to where you are comfortable at night
open the winders in the bedrooms
put kerosene heaters in each bedroom
pull a mattress in the hallway and all sleep together on the floor
try different combinations of above until desired effect is achieved
something about milk and a freezer

You said it drops a degree an hour. So is it 66/67 when you wake up?

Eco puts it at 78 during the day

Got home yesterday at 4:30. AC comes on and stays on. When to bed at 10 and thermostat said 72. Ending temp was 68. Set the thermostat to 72 and it went off and on all night to keep the temp.
Apparently 72 in the hallway is 65 in the bedrooms

Should be cooler in bedroom than the hall

Bedrooms have cold air coming out. Hall has warm air being pulled back to the return.

What is the problem?

If the bedrooms are too cold, turn up the thermostat.
Is your issue with the temperature reading on the thermostat vs what the bedrooms are?

than what's on the thermostat literally right outside the bedroom doors.

close the air registers some.
May 5, 2021, 10:29 AM
|
|
Leave the bedroom doors open. Verify the temp at the thermostat location is what the thermostat is saying it is.
The temp differential from the return to the registers should be ~20 degrees.
