Saw a guy get stabbed today......

right in front of me. I was at our office, which is in a pretty bad part of town. I was dying to get some water. The fountains in the office are shut off and the vending machines are emptied as no one is really there regularly.
I go by a gas station that I know is sketch, but there is a cop car there with two cops inside. So I pull in and park right beside them. Give them the friendly wave and go inside the store to grab a couple of waters.
I go in and go back to the cooler. I hear people arguing but that is Detroit. You just mind your own business. All the sudden, the one guy hits the other with a 20oz bottle. They start going after it and then the one guy slams the others head into the ATM. At this point I am just waiting on a gun. So there was a lady beside me and I basically grab her by the arm and we go into the drink cooler. There were so many people showing up to fight, it was insane. Mind you the cops have no idea this is happening cause no one can get out and no one else but me probably knows they are even around the building. The fight then goes outside. They busted the windows out of the door and everything as it went outside. I/we thought it was over and cops could now see it all. I see them all arguing with the cops at the gas pump. So the lady I come out of there and she goes her way and I go mine.
I turn the corner and the cop has a guy on the ground handcuffed behind my car. Great I can’t go anywhere. Then from the other corner of the building the other cop has cornered the one dude. He gets around the cop, runs back to the gas pump, pulls one heck of a blade and stabs the other dude in the back. Right between what I would say is shoulder blade and spine. I saw a guy get his arm cut by a knife in Lunberton one time, that was nothing. This dude was screaming like I have never heard. The cops finally grab knife guy and take him to the ground with some really amazing force and the dudes face was all bloody. Since they now have 2/4 handcuffed, I ran over to make sure that guy was still alive and breathing and all. He was actually fine just in some bad pain. At this point 2 other cops pull up and then the ambulance. 3rd guy gets lucky and is gone.
So there I am and the one guy is screaming at me, “who the #### are you? Why the #### your just standing there?” I said I am waiting on you to go to jail so I can get in my car. He didn’t really like that comment, but he couldn’t do crap cause of handcuffs and ankle straps.
Cops find the knife, finally get homeboy from behind my car. I had to give a statement on what I knew and then I got out of there. It was a powder keg when I left. Everyone was still screaming at each other. Bystanders at cops, cops at bystanders. Owner of gas station told everyone to leave, cut off pumps, locked the door.
Cops called me about an hour ago and made sure me and my car were ok, which was super cool.
Just Detroit Monday things.

Remind me to story time on gas station gunfire, shot up car, 911, and me folded up and ducking in my car like some pun that wont come to mind. And by gunfire let’s talk 12-15 rounds from a 9mm held sideways and me being 20 feet from the shooter.
I’ve not been inside a gas station since without being on an owlish skittish lookout program. Profiling predicated on experience can outnatural properly fair play at times.

basically zero family left in NC. So huge support system here.
I could live anywhere with my job, but my wife has to be here. I can’t tell you who I or her work for, but it’s too good to leave the company and the jobs we have.
We live about 25 min from where I saw this all go down. Where I live, is really nice and reminds me a lot of like Hendersonville. That type of size and nice downtown area. Just happens to be close to a violent city. Ha ha!!
