people defending a cop that starred in a 9-minute snuff film. If they are under tremendous scrutiny, it because for decades now they have had this blue wall where they defend the bad apples in the profession. If they were to at least purge their ranks of the pshychos, like our friend Derek Chauvin, it would go a long way in restoring trust.

This is the moment he died.

The medical examiner that testified disagrees with you....

Bruising was on the back of neck/spine.
I think he gets 2nd degree manslaughter. But after reading all the medical examiners basically disagreeing with each other, might be enough to cast doubt on cause of death with a hung jury.

there is no debating that at this point, but 2nd-degree manslaughter means oops, it was an accident and he could avoid jail time and pay a fine. anything less than ten years in Jail will result in more civil unrest and we start this process all over again. the only thing positive that came from this, thus far, is for the first time, well ever, the police turned on one of their own in a court hearing and admitted that what he did was wrong, although i think that has as much to do with the 9 minute video. If that did not exist, this likely would have gotten swept under the rug with all the others.
T3 on the other hand has watched the entire video and determined it was an accident, with no felony being committed.
The problem is, In Minnesota, if you commit involuntary manslaughter while committing a felony, then the charge goes straight to murder 2. torturing a man in custody is a felony. This is no slam dunk, but the evidence is there. Chavin's best hope is to get on the stand, show remorse, and tell the Jury he was in chock and overwhelmed and di not use proper judgment. Otherwise, he needs to go away for 40 years, probably out in 12.

That news week article pre dates the evidence and testimony from this week. It is useless.
But in Minnesota, an involuntary manslaughter charge is automatically bumped up to murder 2 if the suspect(chauvin) is in the process of committing a felony, which Chauvin clearly was.

excessive force is considered battery, a 3rd-degree felony. His own police chief done sold him up that river already. We will have to wait and see, I agree with you that it could very well end up a manslaughter and he is out of jail in two years.

disease did not cause Floyd's death. The Medical Examiner clearly stated that is was a Homicide caused by the officer putting all of his weight on Floyd's neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds.
He made this comment several times during his questioning on Friday.

That BLM co-founder sits in her home laughing at the suckers who made her rich. Most people know systemic racism is a load of crap but there’s enough of the easily influenced out there to make you rich if you want to play the race con game.

For an organization who views all white people as racists...

And thinks everything in society is rooted in racism, it's odd she just moved to an extremely white neighborhood.
In GA, they are building a black-only community.
Why would she want to live in a white community with a bunch of racists that surely have ample police protection?

people as racists. Not sure if that’s actually true, given that it’s you saying it, I’d have to do more research on their views to see if that’s actually what they believe. I largely ignore BLM, as I don’t support the organization itself.
