IMPO, that is the major reason that so many are being infected with covid. But each to their own bc, as of now, the vaccine is a personal choice, so choose what's best for you. But I would advise anybody, just don't allow anyone to choose for you if you haven't been vaxxed, and at least wear a mask to help protect yourself, and your loved ones bc, the variants have proven to be much deadlier than the original covid-19 that we saw this time last year. And be prepared to live with your choice of the good, the bad, and the dead!!!

We were told masks do not protect you....they protect others. Yes i realize the high end masks would protect you but I dont see many (read any) N95s around campus.

Only a surgical mask or N 95 mask and they are slightly different will protect you. But even then they only protect you marginally short term depending on the amount of air volume and how long you were exposed. Short term in a confined area a mask will help some. But in general masks are marginally effective at best. And that’s assuming you’re wearing a mask that works and you’re wearing it properly.

a vaccinated person is JUST AS LIKELY to contract and spread the virus as an unvaccinated person. period. Fact. Proven. You and I could be infected right now, we just don't realize it because the vaccine reduces or eliminates our symptoms.

This vaccine was not developed to kill the virus or make you immune. It was designed to lessen the severity of the symptoms if you catch the virus. An infected vaccinated person will still carry and transmit the disease. The ONLY RISK an unvaccinated person presents compared to a vaccinated person is that if they catch the virus, they will most likely have symptoms more severe than the one who is vaccinated.

I've been vaccinated. I implore others to do so.... but it's not because you're putting others at risk if you don't... you are NOT putting others at any more risk. I want you vaccinated because I care about you and YOUR health and don't want to see good Tigers die.

Stop saying vaccinated people protect ME... they don't. Only I can protect me. And thus, I'm vaccinated. but I can still make you sick if I'm infected. THOSE are the facts.

Actually you are wrong. The vaccine was supposed to prevent you from getting Covid. They keep moving the goalposts. Now they’re saying it keeps you from getting seriously sick or being hospitalized or dying. But that was not the original narrative. We were told get the vaccine and you can go back to living a normal life. Well that has not happened has it?

They keep lying because this is not about the science but money power and control. One day people might wake up and understand that.

The lockdown was only gonna be two weeks. Remember that? California is still locked down.

Canada is requiring vaccine passports to go from one state to another. I know it’s called a providence but it’s the same #### thing.

New Zealand just locked down again because one person had a positive PCR test for the Delta variant. Did that person have symptoms? How many cycles did it take to get that positive test? These are important questions if you understand the flaws and the limitations of a PCR test, which experts say should only be used to corroborate or verify someone has Covid if they are showing symptoms. It is a terrible test for random testing and many experts think it should not be used at all. Including the guy that invented the #### thing!

Moving the goal post? They completely changed ball fields. We were plainly told the vaccine would prevent infection with and transmission of Covid. Biden said "vaccinated people can not get Covid." They knew that was a lie when they said it because all three manufacturers had already submitted documentation to FDA that stated their vaccine did not provide sterilizing immunity. As usual, the Govt lied to us.

It’s people like you not following the data and the science. I’m not being far right reactionary you idiot! I’m looking at the numbers and the data objectively! You might want to try that yourself.

Vaccines have never prevented someone from contracting anything. Vaccines build immunity. So a vaccinated person is able to fight it off before they ever get sick. That’s why mumps and #### still pops up, the few unvaccinated ones get sick enough to actually get tested. Gotta research ####.

To be fair, that's definitely not a proven fact outright, but I hate we can't even listen to Clemson University itself.

It's interesting how much so many people love Clemson but can't stand to behave the way the university & its coached & leaders behave.

I feel like I understand both sides pretty well outright, I just don't think a free shot or a face mask is "too much to ask for" in my experience. Hell, I like my Tiger masks, and NO WAY am I missing every game in-person this season.

Roughly 1200 people under the age of 25 have died from Covid. The overwhelming majority of them had health issues or were fat and diabetic.

College kids are not at any real or serious risk of Covid.

The science on wearing a mask is very muddled,

And there’s never been any science or evidence that a mask is needed outdoors.

There are tons of legitimate scientists saying kids should not be getting this vaccine, especially young women that might want to have children in the future.

And don’t forget this is an experimental vaccine that has not been FDA approved. It is unconstitutional to mandate this vaccine.

And the PCR testing is utterly ridiculous. Do you understand how the PCR test works? Do you understand it does not actually test for Covid? Do you understand that a positive PCR test doesn’t mean you have Covid, especially if you don’t have symptoms and don’t have the underlying data and know how many cycles the test took to get to a positive. No one should be getting a PCR test unless they have symptoms. That’s not my opinion. That is the scientific opinion of experts in PCR testing including the guy that invented the thing.

Based on your comments I get the feeling you don’t know or understand any of these things.

How old are you?

You can’t be very old if you trust the government and are this compliant. I promise you most people over the age of 40 don’t feel the way you do. It’s getting to where I don’t even recognize the America I grew up in back in the 70s and the 80s.

Aug 19, 2021, 1:12 PM

How about the fact that the University of Florida has already lost a lawsuit over students and mask mandates.

How about the fact that NC State and many other schools are not requiring vaccines and testing.

Maybe if the government wasn’t lying and repeatedly getting caught lying and repeatedly moves the goal post and if people were actually following the science and the data and maybe if the research wasn’t contradictory and if different schools were not doing different things if there was some consistency in the rules and the policies then people would be willing to listen.

I've had professors I didn't like and that, I perceived, didn't like me. Didn't change how I had to behave and perform in their classes.

I've had rules imposed in civic life, in school, in church, and on the job. Nobody asked if I LIKED any of those rules.

If you're going to live in a civil society, rule keeping is part of the contract.

Protesting is not disobeying nor is it necessarily disruptive. It is, only, a protest.

We're a long way from the "Don't Tread on Me" days of the Revolution, the "Signs, Sign, Everywhere Are Signs" 60s, and Bernie Madoff (don't tell me the SEC has rules), but recalcitrant anarchists, as before, continue to rail against any perceived impositions. It is one of the defining symptoms of the undisciplined mind.

We are also a long way from the onset of this ridiculousness and general society is simply not going to continue to comply with rules that are dictated to them. It's been 18 months...tolerance is waning. Every single thing we are "told" has been contradicted multiple times. Flatten the curve, wear a mask, don't wear a mask, wear this type of mask only, social distance 6 feet, social distance 3 feet, close at 11pm, stay open after 11pm but don't serve alcohol, get the vaccine, no mask if vaccinated, never mind put your mask on, get a booster...it's nonsense. This has always been about money power and control and anyone that doesn’t get that is fooling themselves.

This has been the biggest transfer of wealth from the lower and middle class to the rich in American history.

They have never followed the data or the science and as you stated they keep moving the goal post.

They even keep redefining Long Covid. Originally long Covid was people that were still feeling bad and having serious symptoms weeks and months after being infected. Now if you simply have a minor symptom like a mild cough weeks after being sick you are considered to have a long Covid. People have a cough weeks after having a cold or the flu.

Sorry, but you are incorrect. The new Delta variant does not even slow-down when it comes to infecting those people that had Covid in 2020.
The 2020 variant was mostly dangerous to older people and people in poor health.

The 2021 Delta variant is much more communicable (4-10 times worse) and twice as deadly as the 2020 varianrs. It is also an equal-opportunity virus, and readily and equally infects newborns, chidren less than 12, kids over 12, people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s and those people of 60s and up.
Most older people got vaccinated and are not getting seriously ill from Covid in 2021m

Per ICU docs, in 2020 most deaths occurred after 5 to 6 weeks in the ICU. Now, they report, people most often die after 8-10 days.

Most of Texas, Florida, TN, Ark, Mississipi, KY CA, Conn and other states are out of ICU spaces. With schools starting, wo masks, the ICU crunch will get worse.

George Floyd was not killed by a cop. He was saying I can’t breathe before he was even in handcuffs. And a #### sure it was nothing racist about it.

Every high profile case over the last 20 years that has been all over our TV and social media of a cop killing a black person involved a person that was a repeated felon that was in the act of committing a crime or resisting arrest. Here is a simple question.
If you got the polio vaccine, did you get polio?
The simple answer is No. Do people still get polio in the United States? No, thanks to a successful vaccination program, the United States has been polio-free for more than 30 years

So how can they say that this is a vaccine? It is a genetically engineered shot and may or may not have long term effects on the serious out come of the covid virus.

Do you what you have to do to make your self feel good. Get it, don't get it- but dang the government needs to just stop laying to the people and say- we have no clue- what to do. I could live with that better than -as some of you have said- Moving the goalpost to suit their needs.
