The reality is that Tennessee is currently better than us, based on the most recent data which includes them having a better year last year than we did. In fact, they had a better year last year than we’ve had in several years. And they beat us last year, handily.
Now if you want to argue that we will be better this year, that’s fine. It’s a reasonable argument. But that’s a prediction for the future, and that’s not a fact yet.
What amazes me about some of you is that you actually seem to believe that arguments like the one I’m making are crazy and should be censored. Are you communist?

I don't. I just like a bit o banter. I take it serious in a fun way, as in I don't love around Clemson folk and enjoy the names I've grown to recognize and the ones that are awful. Usually love taking statistics, recruiting, depth, trying to point out good and weak of the team.
But it's hard to discuss it with people like you and you make the message board anything but fun with your weird fetishes. Like I said, if you think I worry about you besides the few minutes I get a day to talk with Clemson folk, apologies. I just think you're a fake

Why do so many insist on getting in these arguments with JK….
For whatever reason - he insists on being passive aggressive and contrarian …
And that’s it…his arguments aren’t logical - so they can’t be debated …why try?
He sets his own parameters for the argument so if you play along it’s just an annoying circular discussion… and his logic is generally not sound …
Case in point - he decided that you can define a program based primarily on -
One season, head to head match up, and record for said one season…
Morehead State beat Clemson last year …
Clemson final record 23-11
Morehead State 22-12
Now by JK’s definition the two most important metrics are head to head and overall record…
The head to head records are nearly equivalent …but Morehead won head to head…
They must have the better program by the narrow definition of those two metrics and a singular season..
Do they? Of course not - any reasonable person knows Clemson has a better program …
Just like any reasonable person doesn’t distill everything down to one season when comparing football programs - Tenn hasn’t sniffed a championship in forever …
Clemson literally won their conference last season..and a national championship in 2018….Tenn has never been to the CFP..Clemson was last there in 2021 ….
Either JK is an idiot, a lunatic, or he’s fully aware he’s being contrarian (motivation unknown) for the sake of being contrarian and his arguments are so full of holes (which is irrelevant because he clearly not interested in genuine debate but rather just annoying people it would seem)….
Watching people get roped into his nonsense is just as bad as JK’s actual posts ….

For a long time - when he focused most on his pro-Brownell trolling - people didn’t seem to realize that he was just a troll and his earnest fan routine was a ruse. as a program when they had a better year than we did and literally beat us (by 3 scores) the last game.
They played a tougher schedule than we did, and they finished the season ranked higher than us.
So yes, it’s quite logical to say that Tennessee is currently a better program than we are - as uncomfortable and disgusting as that is.
As for Morehead State, I’d buy your argument that they are a better program if they had that record against a tougher schedule. But we both know that’s not true.
Again, bringing up basketball in a football thread because you’re uncomfortable or trying to somehow get back at me is weak. I had hoped some of you had changed while I was gone, but I guess not.

In my messed up universe. One successful year and a head to head match up victory does not make a program. Get back with me when they can do it consistently for several years. Heck, they may even win the SEC least eventually!

Better team vs better program are 2 different things. They have obviously cheated to get some the players they have and NIL just allows them to buy more players. Our program was down last 2yrs without generational QB but Dabo has addressed the offense with a power hire. We have a mobile QB now, pretty sure we will see a big boost in our offensive numbers.

I said that we aren't a better program right now.
Again, I don't understand why this is so hard for some of you to fathom since Tennessee had a better year last year than we did, against a tougher schedule, and beat us head to head. They are also now getting some higher profile recruits that we really wanted, and that hasn't happened in a while.
I believe we will have an improved year in 2023, but right now they are a better program than we are, and you're seeing some examples of that perception in recruiting.

I definitely agree that they had a better season than us last year. I mean, we did win our conference, but record and head-to-head are two factors in their favor.
But a better program? I don’t see it yet. Let’s see if they can sustain a level of excellence comparable to us over a decade without cutting checks for $8 million in NCAA fines. Time will tell.

You need to learn the difference between a good program and a good year. Were we a better program than UNC when we beat them in Chapel Hill? Use a little common sense. How is a program just penalized for 200 violations better than anyone?

Tennessee just got fined 8 million for cheating. They are not the better program. Tennessee had a good season last year after being out of the national conversation for two decades. What all this means for their program going forward remains to be seen.
Your disdain for Clemson football leaves you devoid of any common sense or reasoning. All you do is come on here and troll Clemson fans with your nonsense. The vast majority on here know you’re full of it and you take advantage of those who can’t articulate their viewpoints well. Almost anyone who has the ability to shoot holes in your arguments is placed on ignore.

We have lost some prestige the last couple of years due to our offense not being exciting. We need to get that excitement back. I think Clemson is in the playoffs this season.

So they were 11-2 against the 7th toughest schedule, while we were 11-3 against the 42nd toughest schedule.
Last year they had wins against #3 Alabama, #7 Clemson, #17 Pitt, #19 Kentucky, #20 Florida, and #25 LSU.
Our best wins were #10 NC State, #14 Syracuse, #21 Wake Forest, and #23 North Carolina.
So Tennessee played a tougher schedule than we did, had a better overall record than us, had better wins than us, and also beat us head to head, and you’re arguing that they didn’t have a better season than we did?!?

i don't care what random, meaningless polls Say. They are all biased. The only fact that indicates Tennessee was better than Clemson was the actual win over Clemson.
but the point was who had a better season.
I'll trade a division and conference championship for a bowl win any day and I would call that a better season than some 1 who only won a bowl game.
Unless it was a CFP bowl game.
