I got a call from a good friend this morning and he asked, "Did you say we were not getting Harmon?" I said heck no I never said that. He then told me I was getting ripped on Tigernet because I said we were not getting him.
I seldom lose my temper but this is ridiculous. If you want to rip me for something I said then you have every right. But you can't rip me for something I did not say.
Here is what was said for anyone that was not listening: Roy and I were discussing the Harmon commitment. I said that is great news but the staff is already aware of what UGA is trying to do and don't put anything past some boosters there in Georgia.
Then I asked Roy, "What would you say the percentage is that Clemson signs him?" Roy says 70%. That was the number I said also and we agreed.
Now please tell me where if someone says there is a 70% chance that a prospect signs with your school how someone can say, "Plyler says we are not getting him."
Criticism is fair and welcomed but flat out lying is not fair.
It's funny how people hear what they want to hear but where I come from how a 70% chance can be turned into not happening is beyond fair.
I apologize for the tone but this is my job and I take it serious. My credibility is at stake and for someone to make up a lie is not right.
