what is the logic for SC fans to pull for LSU in the CWS?

I know that I shouldn't try to get inside the mind of a Gamecock but I will for a minute.
Yes they want an SEC school to win it I guess (not sure why because right now they can brag about being the last SEC team win it to the other SEC teams fans.) But if that is the case then why not Miss State?
Right now LSU is the premier baseball program in the SEC. Have been for a long time. Right now SC can claim that they are the top dogs of the SEC because their titles have been more recent than LSU's. Even though LSU still has more in total but still it gives SC fans some ammo and puts them in the discussion. I don't see why their fans would want to see LSU take the crown back and be on top again.
I checked out fgf a few days ago and the majority of their fans are saying they want LSU to win it. Not SEC, but LSU. Baffles me.

by know. Why they do this, because they have so very few accomplishments from their athletic department throughout their history. It was funny right after the coots lost, coot fans around the Cootlumbia area were talking about how they were going to pull for LSU because they like them so much. Funny thing is during football season they talked about how much they hated LSU's fans.

The SEC is a different animal. Alabama came in and kicked our butt. They are the defending National Champion and do NOT need to ride the SEC coat tail and yet their fans yelled SEC,SEC,SEC over and over again. It is like a brotherhood more than anything else. South Carolina can stand on their own merits also. They have done quite well in football and baseball the last few years. It seems to work for the SEC as far as popularity and clout so don't dismiss it so easily. It would take that kind of commitment to each other before I could see us joining the ACC in football. It should be an "ALL IN " as you guys say. I think it works for them. They can't continue the run they have had so be ready to take advantage of their mistakes when they happen.

We don't recruit against LSU, so why would it matter?
We are an elite national program with multiple national championships. LSU winning a championship doesn't negatively affect us.
