What in the world did we do before internet...

Jan 14, 2013, 3:25 PM

Twitter, facebook, Tiger Boards...etc

What did we all do back in the day when we didn't have it?

We talked face to face! We knew who we talked to. The phone was a device for casting our voices over long distances. We really played football not on a pocket computer. Hell we were audacious enough to ask a girl out face to face and dang the rejection!
And that is how I got my first ex. :)

I got my information from a businessman downtown Clemson. He pretty much knew who Danny was visiting and then I am ashamed to say took a subscription from the "Poop Sheet". I also remember the person prior to Kornpoop, Don Williams, and actually called the station from time to time with inside information. The internet probably changed more for the coaches than it has for us. Danny could find guys nobody else knew anything about and until other coaches found out who he was recruiting he could pretty much reel whoever he wanted in. Now there seems to be very few surprises. The data bases are opened for everybody.

I played baseball with my children.

We worked on homework, talked and watched Star Trek. We went to church, worked on the lawn and had dinner at the table.

Each of them worked with me during the summer. They all learned how to work and came to understand all the money they made was theirs'. They learned to respect their mother because daddy demanded it. I learned how to raise children.

They all got saved and I got blessed because of it.

Things are different now. They are grown but they are still saved and still know how to work and care for themselves. I'm alone on a mountain but I'm still blessed to know they are saved and still know how to work.

Can't stand when you come to a stop sign and the person you're waiving to go ahead isn't looking cause they're on their stupid cell phone
