making her the first black Academy Award winner and nominee. Ironic, but I think they'll bring it back soon.. maybe with a disclaimer. Either way it's still easy to find online, as is Song of the South.

Is that going to be removed? How about all the ones with Dudley Dickerson?

Just adding disclaimers.
So, since I'm also a quasi film expert (willing to teach you that as well), let's get this out of the way.
Gone With the Wind gleams over and glamorizes the South, both antebellum and postbellum. Some portrayals of blacks are downright despicable, from Sissy to making them carpet baggers to the ones trying to rape Scarlet.
But that was the time and the story. Don't forget that at the Atlanta premiere, they tried to ban Hattie McDaniel from it until Clark Gable demanded her admission.
HOWEVER, and a big however: GWTW is simply brilliant film making and one of the best movies in history. The symbolism is astounding (you can even break it down to the colors Scarlet wears in different scenes, and I will be happy to film nerd with anyone who wants to go there) to the cinematography. The plot, dialogue, and character development are still some of the best in history, and it stands the test of time.
The train station/Confederate flag/pan out scene is still one of the best ever done. So, thus, this is a film that must remain pertinent in the historical record.
So yes, socially, GWTW doesn't age well. But as when it comes to movie making, it is simply one of the five best ever made.
Opening the door to movie nerd out from here forward.
