Not a bad idea but I like my idea better by putting some BIG12 teams in also:
I would do a merger of ACC, BIG12, PAC12. From the PAC keep: Oregon, Cal, Washington, Stanford, Utah, Arizona St, Arizona, Colorado. From the BIG12: Baylor, Ok St, Kansas, TCU, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Cinci. And from the ACC: Clemson, Syracuse, Boston College, Virginia, Duke, NC, GT, Miami, FSU. Four six team divisions. Tell ESPN or take bids from other networks to pony up the $$$$$. You have national coverage, major markets. Good football and basketball. And protection from losing teams or worrying about what the SEC or BIG10 does next. I think this format would hold and also prevent the SEC and BIG10 trying to rule it all

The 2021 average combined home attendance for BC, Duke and Syracuse was only 3,198 more than Clemson's average at home. 82,667 vs 79,469. BC had two games above 35k, Duke just one above 20k and SU two above 32k. Those three wouldn't add much to a new conference alignment and makes for a weak looking group from the ACC. Would need to have VT, UNC and NCSU instead. Also Kansas from the B-12 has trouble competing with good FCS teams. Basketball doesn't look to be a significant factor in new TV contract negotiations.
