Was at the game....

Nov 1, 2015, 8:19 AM

So I made the trip to Raleigh yesterday with my NC State grad wife and her NC state family which included my father in law, sister in law, niece, nephew, her uncle and one of her cousins. Just have to say that my sister in law and my wife are a couple of sore losers. Especially the sister in law. I heard nothing but complaining from her the whole game. We don't look like a #3 team in the country and how we werent playing fair, bad sportsmanship etc.....they thought a flag should have been thrown every play and also said that we weren't very good. Dabo ran up the score last week and he was trying to do it against them. Oh let me tell you... They didn't like #10 on the field either (good job Ben). I had to explain to her that we played the 2nd and 3rd string players most of the second half against Miami. When we were up by 15 with about 10 or 12 minutes left last night my wife wanted to know why we still had our first string in (Watson)...boo hoo. Sore losers.... . Everybody went to sleep on the way home except for me and the father in law. He was driving and I was riding shotgun. The ride home was quiet. There was no radio, no car flags or magnets attached to the car anymore. Best part of all was that there was no conversation either. Anyway....hats off to the NC State football team. They played hard and didn't give up

LMFAO....dude here is some advice....

1-800-Divorce. It's better to do it now and find a Clemson woman where you all could be celebrating. Tiger nation will support you during this joyous time. Go Tigers!

Did you ask your clueless sister-in-law if the ref knew where to find his yellow flag 100 times for NCSU blatant holding and take downs? THAT WAS INCREDIBLE....

SCREW NCSU!!!! I hate their fans.

Lol.....no I didn't ask her that. Some friends said that the game commentators on TV said state was getting away with holding all nighters well. When state would score my wife and her sister would jump up and down celebrating. When we would answer with a score I would celebrate with the 2 great Clemson fans that were sitting behind me. The sister in law would look in our direction like we committed a crime. Then she would start with bad mouthing our team to my wife. It was great though!!! One more thing..... The sister in law asked who we played next week and I told her Florida State. She said that they would definitely beat us. I just smiled and said that's why they play the game.

When sis-in-law brought up sportsmanship...

did you point out how their asst. coach was shoveling Watson on the sideline? That would shut her up.

Classless bunch.

Lol...It wouldn't have done any good. Some people just dont know when to hush. Her son however was giving some of our players props and liked Jayron Kearse. He is a die hard state fan but not as sore of a sport as his 40 year old mom! It's a long shot but a chance he ends up being a Clemson fan one day when he grows up. lol...

One of the worst fan bases in the ACC....

Nov 1, 2015, 8:56 AM

I went to the game in Raleigh in 1987 and the fans wanted to fight us after the game in the parking lot, and they won. People have told me state fans from the top deck threw liquor bottles at them in the lower deck during the game. Sounds like they haven't changed any through the years, so I can only assume the school must be OK with it. Polar opposite of Tiger fans.

Probably was in 2011 when state won, so it didn't seem bad

My wife is a pretty good sport overall so I can't complain too much. The sister in law though complains about most things in general. They are all good people but was surprised at how one in particular could act and respond like a middle schooler.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dump her and her family. I am serious.

Do it now rather than later. Don't look back.

I just got home from Raleigh as well...

Nov 1, 2015, 12:10 PM

I was appalled at all the NC state fans who left at the end of the 3rd quarter. The game was far from over since we couldn't stop them from scoring either.
A lot of very obnoxious fans around me. We sat on the 50 behind the Clemson bench. They would complain A TON after every incomplete pass and the tackle on the far sideline which they thought was a late hit out of bounds which it clearly was not. A ton of "F you's" downtown after the game too. Haters gonna hate.
I will say some NC state fans did approach us after the game and say they were rooting for us to win the national championship which was pretty cool. So I'd say it was about even. Some bad fans, some good. I was pretty impressed with the atmosphere except with everyone leaving at the end of the 4th quarter.
That was the 2nd time I've been there. It's been about 8 or 9 years. Glad we got out of there with the win.

That was a good read .... If this is the only issue that comes up in the family , you'll be just fine .
Good luck on everything else , you'll need it .

Next time, you could find some Clemson fans going to the game, get a ticket for yourself, and sit with them. If you're going to be in the dog house with the family anyway, you might as well enjoy watching the game.

Sometimes the road to the truth is so elusive it's confusing and reality becomes illusion.

The topic of our conversation on the way home was how they whinned about the officiating on every play. My seat was by an older State fan that was extremely nice, wished us a safe trip home.
