Last week sent a big joint #### you to the U.S., and if we did engage with Russia, we may be fighting both. And yeah, if we sit back and don't do something about Ukraine, Taiwan is probably next. Both nations smell blood in the water.

This is such a dumb move. Why are we defending Ukraine again? We should be trying to get Russia on our side to fight China. There are two lessons every history teacher learns early.
1. Afghanistan is the graveyard of empires. Don’t invade them.
2. Don’t invade Russia in winter.

We are just giving Ukraine military equipment and intelligence if needed. Also, China and Russia are already allies. We could never get Russia on our side with China. China and Russia are huge trading partners and they have a symbiotic relationship. China is Russia's biggest trading partner and they ship tons of natural resources to China. We are way less important to Russia and we are part of NATO. We are adversaries.

Why not just hand it directly to Russia? That would save many lives. We could have done the same in Afghanistan. Just hand the weapons directly to the taliban since we knew how it’d go anyway.

I guess most of NATO doesn't want the Russians marching west. Ukraine is considering a democracy. Also, we have ties with Ukraine and have commitments. We're helping as we can without sending troops into Ukraine to fight. I guess they think if we just placate Russia it's dangerous for Europe. It would also tell China just to go take Taiwan. NATO doesn't want it seem so simple and easy just to take over neighboring democracies. I guess we have seen all of that before in history.

The tricky part is that A LOT of people in Ukraine want Russia to annex em. Russia may just want the eastern portion, which is more Russia-friendly. TIME had a good article, too, about how Ukraine targeted one of Putin's political besties and this is likely a bit of revenge.
Putin would love to bring back the old Soviet Union. If he can take Ukraine with little pushback (and he already tested it in 2013), he'll likely eye other nations around them. And I'm sure they'll be quite nervous knowing no one is coming to help.

And I know I'm getting a little P&Rish--getting in all those little military conflicts to help feed the military industrial complex, the politicians benefitting from war, and the imbeciles who got half chubs in 2004 over our military playing around in the Middle East (looking at you, you old Lunge chickenhawks from several years ago) was so stupid.
China sat back and just built. Russia picked its battles. Our people are war weary. We had a terrible Afghanistan exit. We're tearing at each others' throats over left vs. right.
I'm afraid Russia and China realize the time is now.
