Your vote for most "impactful" cover and music video of all

time? My candidate is easy. If ever an artist truly OWNED a song after covering it, Johnny Cash owned this one. It obviously hit REALLY close to home for him, as both June his wife, and he, both died within a few months of making this video. When he closes that piano lid, he is literally saying goodbye. His children later said as much. The video has been around since 2003, but it will get to you every time you watch it. It will make you Hurt.

... from among so many.
The video (excerpts from the movie “Indian Runner”) is the perfect visual to go along with the story. In fact the movie screenplay was developed from the song.

you. Vince Gill & Patty Loveless "Go Rest High on That Mountain" @ George Jones' funeral.
Vince began writing the song following the death of country music singer Keith Whitley in 1989. He finished the song a few years later following the death of his older brother of a heart attack in 1993.

BOYs & GIRL's.. look at Johnny's aged face, then & handsome earlier years

and you see a man who has lived it fully but nature has caught up with him..as it will with you too!
Ask Joe21, me, your beloved deceased parent or friend about age & death..and we all would say "We would find a way" to do it better if given a chance to know better!
Also, he reflected about his earlier days, physical being & remembered images and said that was you (then) but this is me now.
Yes, Johnny & June knew their wonderful gig together was over but they went with humility & grace~

I'm not much of a country music fan but, I like a few of the icons who told stories through their music. This last offering that Johnny Cash gave us was his most important, in my opinion. Thank you for sharing.

IMO, this is the best vocal performance… of all time! Cash is good and very emotional. But, Whitney’s was just a little more “pure”.
