Wow. But I agree and sadly not just basketball. But that's just my opinion. We are an elite university. No one expects Dean Smith, coach k, etc etc where final 4 is expected.

I've never understood that line of thinking that an AD is shooting to just be mediocre in any sport. If you are running an organization with many segments, obviously some are more important than others, but do you really want to just aim for not terrible, especially for the segment that is your second most important money maker? Makes no sense to me.

All evidence to the contrary ... so I do get why people question it. Just don't get why an AD would take that approach.

it's definitely okay but does the AD and administration really and truly want too raise the expectations or are they just happy being a .500 or barely over .500 type of program????We'll get a good idea after this season with no postseason of any kind period

This is what I've been saying for years. I don't expect constant Final Fours or Elite Eights. Just to regularly be in the tournament and make actual runs in it and build from there to become successful in basketball. It's not too much to ask to want to be in the Sweet Sixteen every few years.
