Good news for "death row" inmates in SC!!!

Even though the Electric Chair is still the primary method of execution in South Carolina, there's a new option as the state will now allow them to choose an alternative means of either Lethal Injection or the newly approved Firing Squad.

I know places where you could make them walk through bad neigborhoods late and there would be the equivalent of firing squad for free.
On a different note years ago I remember Ohio retired their electric chair. They said it was "too dangerous" to use. I never understood what they thought it was for then

Looks like the lethal injection option has been around a while. Sharing this link because the table at the bottom shows how rare execution is in the state. Seems the real good news is regardless of what they do, they can live almost as long as they want! Now they have the option of how they die if they are one of the unlucky few. ??

This used to be cheaper, but now with the cost of ammo -- not so much.

one day, and they yank you through the door and say, "Hey, try THIS on for size."
I know I am in the minority, but I say, if you are convicted and sentenced to Death, you should have three years to go through the appeals process, and then, the sentence is carried out. None of this 30, 40 years on Death Row nonsense. This would cut down on prison overcrowding, right then and there.

From a taxpayer's point, supporting criminals on death row for decades is wrong. Have a finite number of cells for that, maybe three or four. When space is needed for a new murderer, the murderer with the most time there moves on to meet his Maker.

punishment as severe as that may well be what the founding dads were afraid of,and why they put the clause in the constitution.

The original Constitution does not address punishment for murder. Bullets and hanging were considered OK by the folks who wrote it.
The amendments address that. Like with all things, constant spin has been applied to them. Cruel and unusual could be seen as keeping a man caged for decades.

way back when,in a 3 stooges short the trio was in medieval times and had been convicted and sentenced to death for some crime.they were given the choice of burning at the stake or having their heads cut off.curley piped up and said they would take the burning option.moe asked why,and curley replied that he would rather have a hot steak than a cold chop.makes good sense to me.
